I hadn’t spun with Shetland Fibre before but had worked with commercially spun Shetland Yarn a great deal over the years. Hand Spun Shetland was a total revelation, light, springy and beautifully soft.

A Range of Hand Dyed Fibre dyed in the Lavender Colourway
I treated myself to selection of different fibres to try out on my new Majacraft Aura spinning wheel.
I decided to use the same Lavender colourway was used across these 6 different fibres and a skein of hand spun thick and thin yarn spun from the Corriedale.

First thoughts on my new Majacraft Aura
Just taken delivery of my first ever brand new spinning wheel, the beautiful hand crafted Majacraft Aura supplied by Ruth at thewheelewe.co.uk
My previous wheel was a very old single treadle Scotch tension Ashford Traditional.
