My new spinning wheel has caused a bit of a glut of small skeins of hand spun yarn. Checking out some shawl patterns of Ravelry and Instagram I found these two absolute gems for using up small amounts of hand spun yarn.

Both patterns so easy to follow, once you have worked 1 repeats you know where you are going and not have to carry around the pattern.

I’ve used a 4ply / sock weight hand spun yarn and had roughly 350 – 400 meters of each, both patterns worked for this amount and could be made smaller or larger according to the yarn available.
